Aw thats nothing,

That happens to me everytime I step into the woods with my bow :)

I gotta beat the bucks away with a stick

Trouble is I am so busy beating that I never get a shot off

Greets,
So I am not the only one.. cept mine was only a couple doe.
We were hiking up a trail, it topped out abouve a clearcut. One of the guys I was with takes off up the treeline, spooked 2 doe and what we think was a forky buck. The doe ran a wide circle topp at the trail head, right where we were, one got within 4 feet or less of my hunting partner. before stopping short and turning away, the other blasted thru between us. All the while the "buck was going full tilt across the lower end of the feild, avbout 80 yards out. I had no scope and couldt see antlers, my partner with the scope had him in and out, but couldnt be sure it was legal. Last minute he says its a buck, the deer flashes behind a stump, clears the trail in one bound and goes up rthru the brush still hauling!

Just my uneducated opinion!
Terry

Just think if you used some Doe in Heat. You would have been the center of attraction. You would have gotten more then antlers. All kidding aside, Glad you got away safely. Ruger Redhawk

I can relate Osprey! 5 yrs ago while deer hunting I had a similar experience. We had a blocking line in and was waiting for our doggers to come thru when I heard a noise to my right. Expecting a deer, I turned a saw a cow moose coming down the trail at a trot toward me. I was standing just off the trail and when she got close, I stepped out in front of her. She slammed on her brakes and stopped about 20 ft from me. My rifle was raised but because moose season ended 2 weeks earlier, I could not shoot. We looked at each other for it seemed like an eturnity and finally I whistled and she bolted, ran about 75 yards and stopped broadside to me......another good shot! Never had that happen in moose seaon! The experience didn't sink in until it was all over. Several of our group saw her and her timing was excellent. Two weeks earlier we would have invited her for dinner.
