I have 3 weapons of choice for large game:

My Remington 700 BDL (Custom English Walnut thumbhole stock) chambered in 7mm Mag.

(seeing that I can post only 1 pic per reply the other 2 will follow this one.)

And my old time favorite,.... A Smith & Wesson #629 Stainless .44 Magnum that has been dual trapizoid ported by Mag-na-Port Inc., and topped with a variable Redfield 5 Star EER Scope.

I use a 30-30 or a .308. Looking forward to getting me a new 7MM soon.

How do you like your Encore? I've been thinking hard about getting one for next season. I've wanted to hear what other people thought about them. Any special pros or cons? I like the idea of changing calipers.

I hunt with a Rem. Model 7 243 or Rem. 243 with bull-barrel. I also have a S & W 357 mag. that I want to eventually hunt with. That one will take a little more practice.

decisons decisons my gun of choice is dependant on where i am hunting

Rem 700 BDL in 7mm = corn fields after the cut edges and such or out west on elk

Rem 700 bdl in 280 first year for this gun just bought it after looking for one for years
basicly a non mag 7mm so pretty much same as my 7mm just easier on shoulder

rem 742 30/06 pretty much my main hunting rifle

and when i can't get up north i use a my 870 with cantilever scope mount and sabot's michigan has a no rifle rule in southern part of the state muzzleloader or shotgun/bow only
and have numerous barrels and such for the 870 to do my water fowling and upland bird hunting
