1st do a soil sample, btw what part of bama, i could send you some pics of my plots, i used 75# per acre lime, and 100# per acre 13/13/13, and my plots are looking great, these were after soils samples and local co-op recomendations, but start with a soil sample

You should have done a soil test about 6 or 8 months ago and applied you lime then. It will probably take 3,000 pounds or more per acre in the first treatment. I would go ahead with the soil test and then in the spring apply the lime needed and throw out some soybeans or iron clay peas for a spring plot. Go ahead with 150 or so pounds of fertilizer per acre broadcast before a rain. Use 13-13-13 instead of the 8's. You are paying for filler in the 8's. Use a tape or GPS and get the actual size of your plot instead of guessing.
