For various reasons, most of the season I am unable to hunt all day. I am able mostly to hunt in couple hour blocks. I am not the most graceful guy you've met so still hunting, while improving, is still not my best bet.
My question is if you only had.........let's say 3 hours to hunt during a day and could pick any 3 hours during the day (legal shooting hours please) which would you choose.
Dawn? Mid-day?? Evening???
We hunt private property. Two working farms totalling prolly around 300 acres and there are 3 of us if that matters.
Thanks;

While both can be good, it would be evening where I hunt. In the morning the deer are headed back into the river breaks where they spend the day. They are done feeding and it does not take much to put them on the run. Then they are gone for the day and your done. There is no chasing them around the river break. If I had a stand and was in it before dawn then moring would maybe be ok. However in the evening they are comming up to feed and thats whats mostly on thier minds. Not very spooky then.

I'd say evening. deer are basicaly nocturnal so they will always begin to move just before dark, no matter what time of year. But my second choice would be mid day during the rut.
