Default If you only had????

For various reasons, most of the season I am unable to hunt all day. I am able mostly to hunt in couple hour blocks. I am not the most graceful guy you've met so still hunting, while improving, is still not my best bet.

My question is if you only had.........let's say 3 hours to hunt during a day and could pick any 3 hours during the day (legal shooting hours please) which would you choose.

Dawn? Mid-day?? Evening???

We hunt private property. Two working farms totalling prolly around 300 acres and there are 3 of us if that matters.

Thanks;

I'd have to say dawn. I have always seen more deer in the morning.

Depends on the time of year and game I am hunting. For deer Sept evening, Oct morning and Nov or rut mid day.

I'd have to say morning. I seem to have the best opportunites in that first hour of shooting time.

While both can be good, it would be evening where I hunt. In the morning the deer are headed back into the river breaks where they spend the day. They are done feeding and it does not take much to put them on the run. Then they are gone for the day and your done. There is no chasing them around the river break. If I had a stand and was in it before dawn then moring would maybe be ok. However in the evening they are comming up to feed and thats whats mostly on thier minds. Not very spooky then.

I have to vote evening. Especially that last hour of daylight.

Right now I'd hunt morning or evening. When the rut comes it dosen't really matter. Anytime is good.IMO

I'd say evening. deer are basicaly nocturnal so they will always begin to move just before dark, no matter what time of year. But my second choice would be mid day during the rut.
