planning a "do it yourself" elk/antelope
I am trying to plan a "do-it-youself" elk, mule deer or antelope hunt somewhere out west but I'm having a hard time figuring out where to even start. For instance, some individuals I have talked to said that some zones/areas have lots of antelope and lots of public land so there is no need for a guide. Drawing a tag and some hard hunting will offer you close to a 100% success rate. Any advice on what zones, when to apply for these zones, how to apply for these zones, and then planning the actual trip if I am able to get a permit or tag?

I would do a diy antelope in wyoming. easy enough to get the tags just a couple of years at the most and 1st year is likely. here are the pics of my dad's and my antelope bucks from last friday. This was a do it yourself public land hunt.

mine is on the right and is a 15" even with 6" prongs. My dad's is a 15 1/2" and 15 1/4" that is 16 1/2" wide.
If you want the area, pm me, and I will give you some of the areas around there!
