It depends on if I'm gun or bow hunting. If i'm bow hunting its the feeling when you get up at 4 am and have so much energy you cant wait to get in the woods then once you're there just enjoying the peacefulness and being alone with all the stirrings in the woods.

During shotgun season when putting on drives it's about being with your buddies and having a good time. As well as the feeling you get seeing 9 deer come sprinting towards you out of a thicket like bats out of hell. That's a rush right there!

Being alone in the woods away from the present day world and all of its business.
Last year I bow hunted in a place that had trees that seemed to be old enough to have been there for centuries. While I sat there taking in the wealth of the beauty of the area I thought of the Indians that must have also hunted there. I felt privileged to have shared that area with them. Even though it was centuries apart.

i would have to agree and say that just being in the woods is the best thing there is about hunting.. seeing so many different things in the wood from yotes to skunks and porcupines and everything in between
