Tree stand rookie
I would like to try a tree stand this year but have never used one. I hunt in south Texas (Edwards County) and all of the trees on my lease are crooked or have major branches. How do you fix a stand in a crooked tree? I was thinking about trying a strap on stand just to see if it's going to work. Any and all advice is welcome.

RE: Tree stand rookie
Crooked trees are dangerous. If you have any good size trees that "Y" you may want to try a crotch stand that fits in between the two big branches. I've seen specialty tree stands that adjust to crooked tree but I personally don't want to chance a good fall.
Climbers on crooked trees is not recommended at all. Play it safe.
