RE: What is the "ideal" weather to hunt deer?

Well, I personally like these conditions:

The morning after a night of rainfall or thunderstorms seems to bring them out big time. I like a light, predictable breeze that makes the leaves sway so that you can get away with movement. I hate being cold so I prefer autumn temperatures like 50's and 60's. I shot my deer last year when the temperature was in the high 60's! Love it!!

My idea of that perfect day...Temp about 20 degrees, absolutely no wind, dry (crunchy)leaves on the ground with cloudy skies.

My best luck has been in the morning after a new moon, when a front has just passed or a mild rain or snow shower. Or after a new moon right before a front moves through. Either one has been very productive.

Always with little wind.

Late afternoon, light snow falling with about an 1" accumulated on the ground. I like to find a nice bushy evergreen tree to sit under and wait. On a day like this I've had REALLY good luck.

I have had good luck on overcast drizzly or foggy days. The deer seem to move more.

But the best time to be in the woods is on a crisp clear cold morning with a full moon rising in perigee, especially in November.
