A nice friendly topic...I like cool mornings, 30-35 degrees, overcast, damp leaves (no cornflakes), and a slight breeze. Never hunted deer in the snow, but I guess it would make it easier to track.

Greets,
Well, I have to say, after spending many a soggy day in the woods so cold I couldnt stop shaking, I prefer a clear day, with temps now colder than 40 but no higher than 60. The only deer I have seen or taken were in these kinds of conditions. I will say this, a light rain that comes and goes cant hurt at least I dont think so.
Just my uneducated opinion!

My idea of a perfect day is a day with a steady light breeze, a light steady snow, and the temp just low enough to let the snow stick. I have had two of these in my 38+ years of hunting and got a deer both times. I will take a light rain with all of the above also.

Well down here in South Louisiana we dont get a lott of super cold weather. So when it does dip down in the 20's and lower you can bet I will be out in the woods. The deer usually dont move real early because everything is frosted over, but when the sun comes up , and starts thawing everything out aroun 9:00 or so, the deer have to move. They are not aclimated to this cold weather either and must get up and move.

nothing seems to beat those crisp november mornings when it is very still and the woods are crunchy with frost...evenings i like it to be overcast with somewhat of a breeze, but not too much.
