I am a little short on cash this week, maybe I could rob a bank. That would be ok right?I mean my family is desperate.
This is not the 30's.Times are not that tough.Anyone who gets himself to the point that his family is starving is an idiot.
Does your cousin own like 4 cars, couple motorcycles sitting out in the yard, boat.
bet he does not own just 1 gun,who does.So tell your cousin to sell some of HIS possesions and feed his family.Take his deer during deer season like the rest of us do.Oh maybe he cant afford the license fee.Bet he could tell some of his other hunting buddies to hook him up with a deer and they would do it.
That game warden should be fired.....

eric it seems to me you are having a hard time dealing with this knowledge of your cousin POACHING DEER, i have 5 kids to feed plus my wife and myself. now in my eyes your cousin is nothing more than a law breaking poacher who should be turned into the state , as far as a game warden turning his head and sayin it's ok HE NEEDS TO BE TURNED IN AS WELL, believe me i know what hard times are , i was put out of work 3 years ago and we are living on my disability as well as my wife's meeger income, but we have a roof over our kids heads as well as food in there bellies every day, but for my wife and i we arent satisfied with our situation so we decided to do something about it, we both went back to school, i am taking computer repair classes and then will be going for an associates degree in web design or cad design, as well the wife is studying for a medical billing specialist. i dont care who you are if the situation is bad you change it period, your cousin needs a good swift kick in his fourth point of contact to get off his lazy arse an provide for them 3 younguns, and as far as your statement he has guns, SELL THE DAMN THINGS AN BUY SOME GROCERIES, well nuff said deadshot /aka larry

Well i dont believe in shooting big bucks outta season just for a rack, to me stuff like that is poaching. If you kill for food, you dont shoot from your truck and things like that, if you go out and hunt and kill any deer for meat, IF YOU REALLY NEED IT!, i could understand. They didnt have set times to hunt back in the old days, they implemented bag limits and times to bring game back to population, which is great and if it wasnt for that there wouldnt be that many turkeys and deer there is today. But i dont really believe in man made laws, i beleive in ethics soley......i do follow the man made laws because i have to.........thats the law.

If there were a way to asure that an individual was hunting for food only and could get a special permit, that would be cool in my book. Except there is no way to equitably determine that. This is one of those questions without a clear cut answer. I work construction and though we pay pretty good, most of the men live around the poverty line and multiply far to frequently. One day after work, a couple of my men pinned a blackbuck up against a highfence and killed, quartered it and took it home to their family. 1.) blackbuck is an 'exotic' and not governed under TDPW 2.) I didn't see it happen, I was on my way home 3.) Once off the owner's property, exotics are free game. So the game warden let him go (one of the other men turned him in) because he had broken no wildlife laws. Now animal cruelty and such(The tackled it and beat it with a shovel) is another thing, but this man had 6 kids to feed and was getting that meat for his kids.
Who would speak to deny a man provision from his family if harvested from nature? Is that not the origin of hunting? But it has become a sport and must be regulated to keep it fair and open to all. The first arguement is all the pretext a poacher needs if such permits are available. I believe its a catch 22 and I don't know the right answer.

How long have they been so down and out?? If it's been for quite a while, it looks like he should have been a little smarter and used a little birth control. Why have children if you already to know you can't provide for them? I know things can happen, people lose their jobs, etc...., but some people just have kids without thinking a lot of times.

Depends on why he doesnt have any money to me..........
If he is a hard working man - with limited income and a family - in the middle of some real tough times he is trying to get out of - shoot whatever he wants - I won't take food from a childs mouth.............
If he is a drunk, or lazy slob, with no ambition - and has led his family down a path of destruction - I have a problem with him abusing resorces I pay for.

If it was a one time thing out of desperation, the I could maybe understand. But, if this guy does this on a regular basis, then he is just too lazy and sees that it is easier and more fun to shoot his groceries than to get a job, earn the money and then buy what his family needs.
If that's the case, TURN HIM IN!
