Brown sugar?
I have heard from many hunting buddies that mixing brown sugar and water together in a empty gallon jug shaking it up then going and dumping it on a old stump is a deer magnent. They claim the deer just rip it apart. I was wondering if anyone on here does this and if u do how well does it work for you??

RE: Brown sugar?
That would be considered baiting here ,
and therefore illegal , but it should work about as well as molasses .
The molasses in the store is a by-product of sugar refining , so is brown sugar . I use locally pressed sorghum to make an attractant to smear on branches out of reach of the deer to attract does . They love the smell .

That pretty much renders it worthless ,
their feeding pattern will have changed by then . Perhaps you could find a way to gently heat it while on stand as a scent attractant . I did that with persimmon pulp one year and had 4 does walk right up on me . This was during our Firearms season , so the rut was still on .
