Fixed, i dont think you could find a tree to use a climber on here.

RE: Climber or Fixed Position
fixed, you always take the chance of making noise when setting up your climber. plus it is just one more thing you have to take in and out of the woods with you.

Climber! Easy to change locations!

RE: Climber or Fixed Position
Climber, very comfortable and you can move real easy, I don't know how many times I have built a permanent stand just a few yards from where I needed to be, or the deer change course just a bit over a year or 2.

RE: Climber or Fixed Position
I have 2 fixed. One I built as a combination tree fort/tree stand, only about 12 feet high. The other I just built is a wooden ladder stand, which I will place in the rear of my property. I got the plans from this site.
The new stand is about 18 feet high and very sturdy. I will be putting carpeting on the steps and on the floor to make it easy to climb when wet or snow, and it will muffle sound on the floor. T |
RE: Climber or Fixed Position
Climber...Not only gives me the option of moving to a different location but can also set the height in the tree to fit the terrain. I wouldn't leave home without it.

Hunting public land Like I do - Climber
Bring out what you bring in or someone else will[:@] Besides a climber gives you many stand options for the price of one. If I where to switch to fixed I would need atleast 20 of them to get the same benefit |
