RE: Climber or Fixed Position

while I prefer my climber, there are really pro's and con's with either. With my climber (Treelounge) it is very easy to change locations, and comfortable too. Some say that climbers (of any brand) are noisy, with a little practice they are easy and quiet to set up! I once climbed a tree for an afternoon hunt, only to find I did not like the view from that particular tree. I climbed down, moved to another tree across the trail and within ten minutes, I had deer walking under me! If climbers are really that noisy, that would never have happened.
On the other hand, I don't like using my climber when weather conditions are on the extreme side! When it is very hot or cold, it is just easier to go climb into a fixed position stand!
You just can't beat the climber's portability though!

I always have both with me. But, I would take a portable hang on over a climber, because you can use it in almost any tree over trying to find a straight limbless tree. I always take my stands in and out with me, cause I rarely hunt the same tree twice.

It really all depends on the region your hunting and what trees you want/need to get into. Do some scouting first off and see what type of tree stand will best apply. Both types of stands have great advantages over the other one. But it all depends.
