My all time favorite deer rifle is my Browning Micro Midas...cambered in .257 Roberts. I'm no child, but I'm short and stalky....this rifle fits me perfectly and shoots very well.

Probably my 30+ year old Rem model 700 in .270 cal. I can't remember missing but two deer with it. Once the scope was knocked off and the other I tried to hit a flat out running buck at about 15 yards crossing a small woods road.

Remington 870 here just plain smooth slug barrell............never get shots out past it's effective range so never bought a rifled barrell.

My dad's Wingmaster has taken deer after deer for over 30 years now and I swear if you looked at the gun you would think it is new inside and out. He takes good care of the gun but even a well cared for piece of junk won't last..........the quality of that gun is impressive.

Since 1968 a Rem. MODEL 660 in 6MM. About 5 years ago I swapped out the 3-9x32 for a 3-9x50 Bushnells. I goes bang, they fall. Sweet shooting, a pleasure to reload and shoot.:eek:

Well We don't have many whitetails where I hunt as its mostly Mule deer. If my favormite was the rifle that I have killed the most deer with, that would be about a tossup between the old swedish mauser and a LH Remington 788 in 308. I have used the 257 Roberts, 250 Savage and 30-06 for a lot of deer as well. Here of late my NEF 280 holds a spot close to my heart. Favorites come and go but I quess the old Swede would be about tops. From 0 to 300 yards it performs as well as anything I have ever used and that includes almost all the Magnums. 140 grain Hornady spire point has taken most of the deer.

Model 94 30-30, best rifle there is in my book for the brush, or Winchester Ranger 12 gauge if we are talking shotgun.

I have used several rifles over the years but my favorite by far is a custom 700 chambered in 7mmstw.It shoots flat ,has plenty of power and is extremely accurate.

My favourite rifle has to be my Sako Hunter 270Win ,It wasn't cheap but it's the best rifle I've ever owned .I topped it off with a Bushnell Elite with raingaurd 3x9x40.I've shot many deer with it and my favourite ammo was Remington Premium's that you can't buy any more.

Any remington in a 308 would be work for me, I currently use a Rem M700 Mountain rifle in 308 cal. A one of kind rifle topped with a Leupold base and rings with a matte Leupold VX-III 4.5-14LRx40mm. I stand with 7 missouri whitetail under my belt. And many coyotes with this rifle.

You can still get remington premiums, they are now called premier let me know what style you liked and i'll tell you the equivalent to it. I shot remington ammo for years untill I started reloading but I still use remington brass. And occasionally Buy a box of premier core lokt ultra from time to time when I need some fresh brass.

I'll have to agree with most and say my Remington 700 in .270 caliber is my favorite, but if I could only have one center fire caliber to hunt all species of big game in North America I would have to go with my Browning A-bolt .338 Mag. She'll knock dust on anyting that walks on this continent.

Mostly mulies where I've hunted, a few whitetails thrown in.....

Used to use a .270 (from 14 to 23).

Tried a 338WinMag that I bought for elk hunting (at 24) and never looked back, over 25 years now. [:o][:o][:o] I know folks routinely "knock deer over with a stick" so to speak, but for me my 338WinMag just seemed to really, really, really work well, though it is bigger than most and more than is required. :D:D:D Did I mention it just really works well? ;)

Killingest damn rifle I ever owned, not much in the way of blood shot meat either....

I have been through a number of guns over the years as my father has always had an arsenal, but never gave me a gun of my own. I have one now and it's a 7 MAG and I love it. I am on a heck of a streak over the past few seasons(3 deer, 5 hogs, 2 coyotes without a miss) The Hammer gets the job done everytime. The rifle is a Remington model 700 plain vanilla off the shelf. So what? I would like to replace the cheapo Tasco scope, but it too has not let me down. I have been shooting Winchester Supreme Ballistic Silver Tips and they are devastating. A little messy, but I haven't lost anything, so.... I forget what grain, midrange to be sure, but I'd have to check my bag to give you a number.

I also have an old school Model 740 in .30-06 semi auto. It was my grandpa's gun. It has a brass plate with his intials on it in the stock. De died in 1980, so tells you how old the thing is. It has a VERY short barrel and is not REAL accurate past 100 yards, but I got a hog last year with it. Perfromed a radical tracheotomy. She wouldn't trun so I took her head on and dropped her where she stood. My grandpa had a legendary fiery temper and people called him Tiger, so that's the name of the gun now as well. . .
