RE: Slugs or Buck shot for hogs?
I've been shooting lots of Pigs on my lease and I can't imagine taking a shot at more than 15/20 yards with a shot gun using pellets. A pig can take huge damage and still run off. I've used my .270 & .260 for longer shots. Lately I have had more fun stalking them to a close range with an open sight lever action in .357. Take your time stay down wind and you will find you can get to with in 15 yards if you take your time.

i would say slugs.....12 gauge though, lol.....
it's just more of a punch......i have taken hogs with both...i prefer a slug, but ol sis talked me into the buck shot......so what i do now is put the buck shot in , then i back it up with the slugs , just in case i just wanted to add,Georgetownboys , is definately correct, you want them the close.....my second hog ever i shot about 15 yards , that bad boy came running straight at me full steam, scared me to death, first time using buck shot....but he went down not too far from me......it's an awesome experience.......

Based on what I've seen, definitely slugs. I was on a hog hunt and a guy shot a wounded boar twice at about 10 yards with 12-gauge buckshot loads, and they had practically no effect. A slug, though, put the hog down for keeps.
