Not counting the one I got with a tractor the year before I was legal to hunt ,3 hours to shoot it, 6 hours to get it out to the truck.

20 minutes into opening morning on my first deer season a 5 point buck met sudden death from my borrowed Remington 742 30-06. Every deer I have killed since then has been just as exciting to me, but that first one holds the most honored place in my memory.

It took me two seasons, and man was I excited when I got it, what a rush!!! I was hooked for life.

Well as for me legal shooting time was 6:38...............my first deer was on the ground at exactely 6:42...... nice little 4 point buck but being it was PA { before antler laws}............and it was my first year to EVER hunt.....and my first thing to ever hunt a little 130 pound 4 point shot at about 50 yards with a 44 mag. was enough to get me hooked

wo seasons my bday was in the mmiddle of season and i shot my first after my bday.

it was my third season on thanksgiving morning. it was about a 200 pnd doe coming up a fence post with a spike but the doe was much bigger.

Two days. It was my first season. I was 15 in "19 ought 61", and hunted with a gang of 10 guys. I saw a buck on opening day that I didn't get a shot at, but when I saw this doe at end-of-day on tuesday I dropped her with my .303 British. I got 2 of the three deer the gang shot that season.

Two years...My first year I missed my"trophy spike" at 25 yard, when buck fever and a knocked over rear sight(found out after) left my Dad thinking I had an automatic instead of a lever gun;)

But it wasn't the text book hunt...I had fell asleep while we were heading to the next spot...I awoke in time to let Dad know that he was about to run over a deer...So he hollered shoot it..we stopped,got out loaded up, and popped him at about 15 yards...my trophy spike was mine. Pop said he had to gut him for me cuz a kid actin' like that was gonna cut himself all up:D

That was 21 years ago this year and I still have the little antlers around somewhere:D[8D]
