about 6 yrs of not being serios about it just goin whenever someone invited me and never even saw a deer when i had a rifle in my hand last year i got permission to hunt bosses land i got real serios and put out feeders and studied read books and looked info on the internet and shot my first deer the 4th day of the season.
this year i have 3 decent places to hunt and I hope to get my first deer with my bow.

It was 35 years ago, tagged a doe on doe day in Jersey after five years. A good story she swam to an Island with about 30 yards or so to each bank. I shot her on the island with 000 buckshot at 60 yards and expected her to make it to the shore. OOPS she droped in her tracks a pellet in the heart and one destroyed the liver. It was Dec 15 or so and below freezing. I stripped and swam to the Island and drug her to the shore like I was doing a drounding rescue. The rest you can figure. Dam it was good to be young.

I hunted deer at the age of 17 but I didn't know what I was doing and wasn't really engaged in the activity. Sure, I would have been happy to shoot at a deer had it walked into my sights, but I knew nothing about my prey or how to set up. I did not bag a deer on that hunt.

My next deer hunt was when I was 46 years old and I bagged a doe on the last day of the season. I had hunted 9 days and bagged my doe 15 minutes after the sun set, hence with 15 minutes left in the official season. 5 of those 9 days I spent from well before sun up to about 30 minutes after sun down in the field hunting. My next deer hunt, last November, I bagged a small buck 9:45 AM of opening day. I hunted the next 8 days in vain to fill my doe tag.

Got my first last season so that would make it 3 years!!!!!!!!!

well it took me wow haha my first year...i got up to the top of a hill, there was a plum thicket to the left of me, i saw somthing move in it, i made a lil noise and out he came running down the hill, shot his back leg off...got down to him and blew his head off so i wouldnt waste any meat...he was a lil yearling but that's what u get for a first year deer!
