What is your opinion on atv's vs. buggy's/4x4's? Our lease allows atv's but a lot of them don't, saying the noise and intrusion is not worth it. Our atv's run around the lease at 30 mph and make a fair amount of noise, while my friend putts around in a worn out isuzu trooper 4x4 at 8 mph.
What are the pros/cons? ONe big complaint I hear is, maintenance on the old 4x4 is high vs. atv's. Others complain about noise.

The difference in ATV's and 4x4 trucks is enormous.
#1 trucks damage more ground, it's a 3000# vehicle rather than 300#, plus you're more likely to get stuck in a 4x4 than an ATV.
#2 trucks are bigger, you aren't going to manuver steep creeks or dense forest in a truck.
#3 Atv's are louder, most of the time, custom silencers can be mounted to reduce these problems.
#4 Atv's aren't as powerful, you're not going to pull a mountain with one, but when do you really need it anyway
#5 trucks are enclosed, you can hunt in the rain without getting wet
#6 trucks are enclosed, you can't get out as quietly as getting off an ATV.
#7 Atv's are smaller, you can't fit as much stuff or game on an atv.
Evidence either way, but I think that it's best to do what I do, take an ATV in a 4x4. Get there in the truck, then unload the ATV to do all your running around in, then haul your deer back to the truck, then repeat.
