What binoculars do you use in deep woods/

RE: What binoculars do you use in deep woods/
When you say "deep woods" then, to me, that means you want a relatively large objective for optimal light transmission and moderate magnfication for the shorter ranges typically found in the "deep woods". In which case I would recommend either a pair of 8x42s or 8x32s. No lower than that with the objective diameter and no higher than that with magnification.
My suggestion...Nikon Monarch ATB 8x42s. Very good optics, phase coated, good magnification/objective combo and priced under $300.

I now use a pair of Leica 8x32's, but had good success in the
past with Nikon's 8x40 Monarch ATB's. When making your
decision I'd recommend going with a 7x or 8x, anything
stronger will do more harm than good. Just as important,
go with a full or midsize binocular...do not waste your money
on a pair of compacts. Get something that lets in as much
light as possible....the more the better.
Good luck~

Hi charlie (ky),
The only pair of binoculars I use any more are a pair of 8X30 Swarovski's. They are very clear and crisp while remaining portable and light.
When I need more magnification, I go to a spotting scope.

save you money and buy Bushnells (i have several pairs - 8, 10, 12x25 and just bought 16x32). for woods hunting less than couple hundred yards, they work fine.
i do realize that better optics may be needed for glassing in the wide open prairie and mountains, but for brush hunting the Bushnells work great
