Largest 6 pointer
 

Just curious what is the biggest score you have heard of for a 6 pointer? I have a buddy who shot one last season which we rough scored at 148. It is basically missing it's G2's and has 13 inch G3's. It also has an inside spread of 27.5 inches! Big mass to go with a 263lbs dressed body as well.

I am trying to get him to get it officially scored as I'm sure it would rank as the biggest 6 pointer ever in Ontario.

I've searched the net but can't find any scores specific to 6 pointers.

never heard of a 6 pt that is anywhere near that size, not even half.

how old was the deer?

there was one shot here year before last he field dressed 243 lbs. he had a 28 inch inside spread ill be happy to send you a pic of it if you like just email me your addy

I saw a picture of one taken in Washington County, PA this year. If I recall correctly it scored ~130". It was taken by a youth hunter. Picture was at a Gander Mountain.

at our local shop the biggest 6 pointer in Illinois is mounted up there but I forgot what it scored I will have to ask next time

Mna that is a big six pointer. I live in PA and for the last 2 years weve had to watch what we shoot. Last year I saw the biggest 4 pointer I ever seen. I'd say he was 18-20 inches wide and really high and also alot of mass to his rack. But this deer was not shootable cuz he didnt have 3 point to a side. Which is a good idea that PA has now, but I'm just sayin that would be a good deer to shoot to get them genes out of the herd.

Pictures on the way. He just has to get it scanned somewhere. It was taken in Central Ontario. It really is a sight. I held the mount. It is basically has 2 long, wide, thick main beams with just 1 long tine on each side. brow tines are pretty decent as well.

I am told there woul be a couple of inches of deductions because the tines aren't exactly the same both sides but it is pretty good typical frame.

Ontelk - sounds like an incredible animal. I was hunting near the Vermillion Bay area a few years ago and I saw an awesome six. Not as big as the one you just described, but thick and a basic frame 6, with no brow tines ever grown, although not real wide. I let him pass, as the arrangement was 4 per side, or beyond the ears. An extremely good looking specimen...good genes for sure!

I killed a six pointer a couple of yrs back that had a fairley decent rack . .no brow tines. He was a really heavy one although I didnt weigh him , the butcher said he was the biggest he had done that yr . When you concider that it was the end of the season and they did about 40 a week that was saying something. I wish I had of weighed him.

there was one killed last year ohio that was in the 160's it was at the big buck banquet.

I took one with a 16" spread and 5" brows with 8" G 2's, I thoght that was a big six point. Sounds like a hell of a lot bigger 6 points out there. I was happy with mine though, it was my biggest bowkill.

I got my first bowkill this year and it was a six point that scored about 90. It was the biggest six any of my buddies and I have seen.

160 inch 6 pointer???

It would have to look something like this,
Now try to picture this with me it is going to be a little far stretched

lets see it would have to look something like this

36 inch spread
30 inch main beams
5 inch g1
15 inch g2
2 circ @ 6 inches each = 62 inches

(62 x 2) + 36 = 160 inches

I have a extremely hard time believing even my great state of Ohio could produce any thing with a rack like that.

my buddy went to fin feather and fur in march and there was a buck in the 160s for some kind of banquet.and individual brought it . and in kilbuck there was 1 i heard in the high 1 40's

my friend got a 126" ---6 pointer 2 years ago only 100yds from my stand. this year, i saw a HUGE 5 pointer in the same spot. And i Mean HUUUUGE, bigger than any buck ive ever seen, antler-wise. wierd genetics at play in my zone.

i hope he's around next season, he should be awesome.

buckeyebuchunter..your figures are totally incorrect. I'd love to see the pic of the 6 pointer who could match those figures. Redo your math. Your numbers give the deer a score of 184, You forgot to give credit for both main beams, plus G1's and G2's plus only 4 circs/side would only equal 48. I have a pic of a 6 pointer being mounted that goes 160. Who can post it for me?

This buck is a main frame eight point. But the brow tines are only one and two inches on the mount. The mount is two sheds I found. Both scored just over 62". Est 24" spread. Gross 148". That was a down year. One of the bucks other sheds on the ground scored just over 70", with a minimul brow tine. Less than 2" for sure. 70"+70", est 24" spread, 164" six point.

Well, if the world record 8 pointer scores in the mid 180's, then I could see a six pointer at 160. But I think that would be about max!
