For deer I now use a Browning A-bolt 7mm-08 with synthetic stock topped with a Leupold Vari X III scope. I still have and use occasionally a Ruger M77 bolt action in 7mm mag and a Smith and Wesson bolt action rifle in 243.

I bought a Browning A-Bolt LH 300 WSM last summer. Will use it for elk, moose, black bear, and deer.

Well I'm restricted to shot gun here in Iowa. I shoot a Mossberg 500 20ga with a fully rifled barrel. I love it!!! It is really accurate out to even over 100 yards. I have been shooting Remington Copper Solid sabot slugs but I am going to switch to their partition bullet slugs before next year.

I seldom firearm hunt anymore,but when do use 12ga.Moss. in areas of close shots,30-06 180gr.soft nose when shooting rifle.

Hay Creekhobo, where did you hit that MONSTER, I don't see any holes, nice buck I use a model 70, 270 - 150 grain and a 50 cal Tradirions inline.

Marlin 45/70, Remington 870, Springfield M1 .308.

Marlin 30/30 handed down to me from my Dad. The gun is 30 some years old but looks and works brand new and does kill deer.
