Hey just wonderin what you guys use.. I use a 7mm mag its a ruger... ok ttyl o and also did ne one get ne nice deer this yr? if you did id love to see pics!!

For deer here in IL I use an H&R Ultra Slug Deluxe in 12 gauge. My oldest son uses H&R Ultra Slug in 20 gauge. If I'm in tighter woods or real brushy areas I will use my old JC Higgins 12 gauge pump.

For small game (like squirrel and rabbit) I use either an old New Haven .410 bolt, an old Stevens 94 single shot 12 gauge or one of my many Ruger 10/22's. My oldest boy uses an NEF .410 single shot or one of the Ruger 10/22's.

Big birds-the old Stevens 94 or a Mossberg 500 12 gauge.

Crows - sniping 'em?.......a sweet old Mossberg .22 Magnum....flyers?..........the old Stevens 94 or the Mossberg.

'Yotes? A Bushmaster AR or very occasionally my old German Mauser in .06.

Bad guys? Kimber CDP .45 or Kel-Tec P11 9mm - everyday.

For deer in MD: 12 ga. 870 Wingmaster (rifled slugs)
For deer in VA: 870 or .30-06 700 ADL
For turkey in VA: 870 w/ replacement barrel, full choke
For small game in MD & VA: .22LR 514

I guess you can tell I'm a Remington guy. :D So far, no deer. [:'(] I just started hunting last year, so I haven't had much time in the field yet. Just counting down the days until spring gobbler season starts...I'm ready!

For deer i use a marlin 30-30 336w
for turkey/small game i use a remington 870.

And yes i did get a really nice 8 point this year. i have the pic on that one topic w/ everyone else's

For deer I use one of two Win. 70's. One is .308 Win. and the other is a 7MM Rem. Magnum, which is quickly becomming my favorite!

i'm shootin my black widow the 7mm rem mag for big game and some varmits. An old beat garage sale bought shotgun for waterfowl, and my double duece for everything else.

257 Robert and a 280 and a 50 TC took my three big does this last year. I only shoot big does. I am a meat hunter.

for deer i shoot a .270 Browning semi-auto with a swarovski scope
for turkey i have a 20 gauge remington

Remington 870 Express. 20" smoothbore barrel for slugs, 28" VR barrel for turkey.
T/C Black Diamond XR .50 Cal muzzleloader
.35 Cal Rem Marlin 336CS, but hardly get to use it anymore.
Marlin model 60 .22 for plinking
Ruger .357 GP100 for making loud noises at the range
BowTech Extreme VFT for making hardly any noise at the range (haven't had the pleasure of taking a deer with it yet)

My favorite gun to shoot is my .50 cal. T/C Hawken.

My favorite gun in the deer woods is my Marlin 30/30.

I use my Weatherby .270 when I get treated to hunt deer in the hill country of Texas.

Rem. 1100 12 gauge for doves.

Benjamin Sheridan .20 cal pellet gun for stray dogs.

This year was a tough year deer hunting for me. I was having trouble seeing deer the first three weeks of the season. I changed guns and used my T/C Hawken, and in an hour and a half, a young fat buck stepped out and I got my one and only deer for the season. My guess is that he didn't recognize me without the Marlin.

Remington 870 20 ga. pump with slug barrel for deer. With vent rib barrel for pheasant and rabbit. 12 ga. Nova pump for turkey!

H&R slug 12ga for open areas ...winchester model 12 in the thick stuff. Been asked why I even shoot the model 12. It wasnt made to sit in the cabinet.

Turkey - H&R 088 (20 ga.); Rem. Wingmaster (16 ga.)

I use a savage 99 in 250-3000 most of the time when i can use a rifle. Muzzleloading season It's either a 54 caliber percussin or a 50 caliber flintlock.In shotgun season its a 12 ga mossberg 695.

I can't hunt with one rifle.
This year, cartridge gun, a sportered Swedish Mauser in 6.5x55. Took a nice nine point management buck with that one.
Killed two does a bit later, with an Italian Replica M1803 Harper's Ferry flint rifle in .54 caliber.
Last year, the Swede again, and a '94 Winchester in .444 with cast bullets.
Year before that, a replica sniper version of a Mosin-Nagant M91/30 in 7.62x54R, and an 1892 Winchester in .38/40 with blackpowder/cast bullet handloads.
Hunting with one rifle is boring!

Here is my favorite gun and biggest deer.
Gun is a Ruger M-77 all weather 30-06 with V X III 3.5-10X40MM.

I use a 7.62X39 /sks with a leapers 4x25 and a 357 magnum marlin with a bushnell 4x32.I live in missiouri so 95 % of my deer hunting is in 25-75 yards .next is a nice 308 for range i think is next on my wish list but.....i just got right to care law in mo so i think a 50 cal glock is next maybe :)

I use a Sako Hunter 270win with a 3x9x40 Bushnell elite 4000 scope ,And Creekhobo I love that setup you have it look's GREAT.Now is that taped or is that the synthetic camo on the rifle and scope?

i love over kill if i dont eat it so savage 99 .308 with 150gr is my top pick, after that is my winchester 30-30 with 150gr hp

I use a Remington 7400 in 30-06 with 150gr bullets.

For Turkey- Mossberg 835

For deer I now use a Browning A-bolt 7mm-08 with synthetic stock topped with a Leupold Vari X III scope. I still have and use occasionally a Ruger M77 bolt action in 7mm mag and a Smith and Wesson bolt action rifle in 243.

I bought a Browning A-Bolt LH 300 WSM last summer. Will use it for elk, moose, black bear, and deer.

Well I'm restricted to shot gun here in Iowa. I shoot a Mossberg 500 20ga with a fully rifled barrel. I love it!!! It is really accurate out to even over 100 yards. I have been shooting Remington Copper Solid sabot slugs but I am going to switch to their partition bullet slugs before next year.

I seldom firearm hunt anymore,but when do use 12ga.Moss. in areas of close shots,30-06 180gr.soft nose when shooting rifle.

Hay Creekhobo, where did you hit that MONSTER, I don't see any holes, nice buck I use a model 70, 270 - 150 grain and a 50 cal Tradirions inline.

Marlin 30/30 handed down to me from my Dad. The gun is 30 some years old but looks and works brand new and does kill deer.
