RE: How do you decide if you get a head mount?

I agree with everyone that says its the memories that count not the size. What alot of people that talk down to people taking smaller deer dont realize, is that most of our hunters arent rich enough to let all the money they spent for licenses and tags go to waste. I personally have to scratch and scrape for everything I get to pay for these things, and I also dont shoot the first thing to come along. But if its getting to be the last day of the season and a deer under 3 1/2 yrs comes along, if he has nice body size, he will be in my freezer. For all those that wont shoot anything but a trophy, I say good for you. Best of luck to you in your venture and I truly wish you the best. Just dont talk down to me about keeping my family fed and teaching my children to be outdoors people. And yes I do teach my children to be ethical hunters.

RE: How do you decide if you get a head mount?

Personally I would get another mount if I just like the look of the rack. I have a couple of racks one nice one. Myself I like the racks to be large and symetrical. I do have a hankering to get a really nice cow horn buck mounted. Anything that would look good to me on the wall would be a keeper. I allways keep the horns of all the deer I kill however. I think that the rack and the skull together makes a good display also.
