It is subjective and can only be answered by the person who took the animal. All the animals I have harvested have special meaning and are viewed as the ulitmate reward by me but they certainly all don't fall into my description of a Trophy. The key is word is MINE or YOURS, as long as you feel it is a trophy who cares what others think, all relative and subjective anyway. I hate to disagree with White Raven but I could give 2 sh!ts what others think of my trophies, I do it for myself only not the approval of other hunters.

To me every deer is not a trophy. I wish people used words like "special" or "meaningful" to describe deer they are proud of rather than trophy. Becuase used legitimately trophy can vary, let alone people calling every thing they take a trophy. I have 1 trophy deer, but I have a whole lot more deer that are more meaningful to me than than that one, but I don't consider them trophies.

There are some bucks that are trophies in any location, then there are more localized trophies. Most trophy bucks in PA aren't even given a second thought in kansas or illinois.

There's my opinion on the subject, a deer you shoot should be special, or meaningful to the person who shot it, but calling it a trophy, just because it's special, only cheapens the true meaning of trophy.

In my opinion, a trophy is whatever you see fit; a 250 pounder or a 60. It's all in the hunter.

A trophy is truely in the eye of the beholder! It may even be an old mature doe!
To me a trophy is a better than average buck for the area that I hunt.
Not all areas have B&C quality animals!
And MOST of the big boys we see on TV and in magazines come off of large high fenced, high dollar ranches!
If that is what you want, its OK by me, but I don't consider these bucks to be "normal!"
While these deer may be every bit as "wild" as any other deer, the high protein feed and very selective hunting, just can't be matched in free-ranging deer!
