Default Still Hunting

How many of you like to still hunt? Myself, I'm afraid of hights and I just feel more comfertable on the ground. I know most whitetail hunters like to use treestands but was just wondering how many of you like to still hunt. Last year I bought a climbing stand and yes when I got up the tree it was nice comfertable but when that wind started blowing and that tree started rocking I would do nothing but grip the sides of the stand and close my eyes. I do have a couple of ladder stands that I hunt from but they are chained, strapped and nailed to the tree so I know it would take a cutting torch for the stand to break loose from the tree. And plus their only about 16' high.

I love to still hunt. Anywhere from 35' in the tree to on the ground in my box stand. I also have some ladder stands at 16' in the air.

I have had some REAL close encounters with still hunting, i usually won't get down from the stand until later in the season.

I love still hunting. Other than safety issues that were mentioned, I absolutely love it. It's a different kind of rush when you're eye to eye with a deer on the ground. I like the challenge and excitement from it. You have to be perfect hunting on the ground!!

I have stallked many deer, here in Texas most all land is private so theres no real safety issue.
I have found it very productive. However make sure you get within 50 yds cause if you shoot him too far off its not hunting it's shooting. LOL

That would a lot funnier if it was even remotely close to what I said

Archery, I am in a tree always.........Summit Goliath

Shotgun early season in tree (safety) and can see them coming. Later in season I will sit in tree for an hour or two then take slow walks through areas we frequently kick deer up from.

Muzzleloader......depends on the day. If weather is decent I will get up high so I can take a long shot if presented. I walked a lot this year because the weather sucked.
