Default GPS or compass, which would you prefer?

I own both, which would you use in the wildernessfor hunting, scouting, I like the GPS for finding area's that I hunt, but I learned on the compass, and enjoy using both. So, if you had to pick, which one?

If I had to pick one, it would be the gps. With the trakback and topo map installed, I'm pretty confident. If it breaks, the sun can tell me direction. I can say the gps has lead me into some terroritory and distances I would never have gone before.

I prefer the good ol' topo map and compass myself, but GPS comes in handy when you get a little deeper into the timber than you'd expected, if you know what I mean. No one likes wandering through the woods all night lookingfor a way out.

I'm a gps guy. I've used one for the last 7 years for many of my outdoor activities, but I would never venture into the wilderness without a compass in tow.
