After 7 years of trying to create something out of nothing I get me a good buck. To some of you this guy might be small to me it's a well deserved trophy. Early season I posted about a Fallow I shot and got a lot of un-deserved remarks about the species. I also harvested the three legged doe that I posted pictures of. Just to make things clear I hunt free range in West, TX Hill country. This guy had one broke tine and 4 kickers, all of the kickers were chipped and the tine was completely broke off, He was a scrappy deer at best.

Hes not as wide as I would like at 14" total points including the broken tine 8 with four kickers. Some consider kickers points as long as you can hang a ring some consider them points after an inch long.
I call him my wannabe 12pt.

Well I had to post this to backup my reputation. It seems a member doesn't like the way I hunt.
From Georgetownboys talking about the fallow I shot opening day.
This quote talking about the fallow that I shot.
I knew when I harvested the deer that it was going in the freezer I knew when I shot it that it was a fallow however was told that it was a sika from a local. The good guy's on the board reassured me that it was in fact a fallow.

I see lots of guys out there who shoot anything. A guy this year posts a photo of a baby he shot and he did not even know what bread it was. Sounds sporting.
I have 460+ acres in Leakey, TX. Way West. Anyhow we have exotics but the only things I have harvested are an Axis, Aoudad, White-Tail and now this? I was told it is a Sika but from re-search they have a pure white rump like a baboon and it' s hard to see the tail on them. This clearly has a long tail. I though it was a baby elk after i shot it but in Tx? It is hard to see but it had light colored spots hardly noticable on the rump. It was hanging out with a doe that had a white rump with spots which I though was a chocolate fallow. Fallow are often mistaken for Sika so I beleieved the guy that told me it was a Sika but I have yet to find a picture of a Sika with a tail like the one in my picture.
