I am one of the people who agreed with you on the Zaft issue (To me his story did not seem believable.); I also believe that you have have a lot of knowledge when it comes to classifying trophy deer. I would like to see the pictures of the trophy deer you have harvested. Most hunters go a lifetime without even seeing a book deer. I am not questioning your integrity, but, as you yourself will probably agree, people making claims to B&C class deer should be prepared and proud to back up their claims.

I'd have to say I am with everyone else on this... It's way to easy to sit back and say "O that buck is just another among thousands, I have 4 on my wall"... To be honest if you have taken that many bucks of that caliber you should start your own TV Series... Also I don;t think you should be talking about anyone elses deer if you are paying to go with a guide and take these animals... Cause ANYONE can do that if you go enough... and second these are World Records in the eyes of the beholder, and if I shot a 190inch whitetail his pic would be on here, and there would be a story to go with it... Might even say World Record... World Class at a minium...

Now I've sent Tazman an email..lets see if he gets back to me. I tried sending the email to others but it looks like most of the big mouths on here give phony addresses. What a surprise!. I don't even know why I'm bothering. But you know that it probably doesn't matter what I do..these guys will still be the same. It's too bad people take things so personally.

I don't know why I am bothering but I'm going to have mdbohunter, one of the forum moderators post a pic on my behalf. I'm not exactly sure why I feel compelled to do so, because it won't prevent people such as those above from bad mouthing me. If anything they'll use the pic to launch further personal attacks. That's their maturity level. So I guess you can say I'm not having the picture posted to prove them wrong, but rather to prove how truly immature they are. Wait and see. People with big yaps like that rarely, if ever, say they were wrong.

all i can see is WR takes these records or in this case non-records very seriously, to each his/her own. i never shot a buck even close to being in the P&Y or B&C, that's ok because i don't eat antler soup.

So I posed with one of her mounts for her and she gave me a little note to go along with it so I’ll type it out in quotation marks exactly as it appears on the pad......."this is the first nice basic 10 pointer I ever arrowed back in ‘88 while I was attending the University of New Brunswick studying forest wildlife biology at the age of 26. It’s actually an 11 pointer with a sticker off the G2 on the right beam, which of course is not included in the equation. The rack had great symmetry, mass (circs of 6") and generally overall appearance. I won’t include the score. I’m sure they’ll be plenty of opinions. Thank you for posting the pic on my behalf. "

She’s also requested I include another pic of myself for some reason. I believe it has something to do with people won’t believe her or something like that. Oh yes and I’m supposed to say something about objects in the background, something you wouldn’t know unless you were actually there. Ok there’s a yellow bear just behind me on the floor that if you didn’t know better would think was Winnie the pooh, but it isn’t. And just in front of that is one of those top things for kids..you know the type where you push up and done on the handle and the insides spin around. The insides in this case are mickey mouse and the gang.

There it is folks, let the fun begin.You all behave now, I'm leaving in a few till Sunday to go hunting.

I'm lost... Why would anyone that has taken deer of that caliber want someone else to hold it...?? Seems to me I could go over to my buddies house and take a pic with his deer without a problem, or just have him post the pic his self on my behalf... I'm not buying it... Smells Fishy, and if it smells like fish it probably is...

And just another note about the pic, anyone looking at it could tell what is in the background of the pic, and you were there in the pic so of course you are going to know what else is in the pic...

On the deer, I am not an offical measurer by any means, but it looks to me like the mass on the left side is much greater then the mass on the right, which as far as I know that means deductions... and with that tine length, I don;t see this deer making the books... Although a very nice buck, he would be on my wall anyday...JMO...

This thread is kind of stupid, and I don't really care who WR is, but if she killed that buck, it is one nice buck! But it definately ain't no book buck.

If a hunter takes a buck he or she is proud of... that's all that matters!! I really could care less about whether it's a book buck or not. I would care more about whether the hunter did the work to get the buck.

A hunter is ... one who hunts for his prey, he finds it, sets up, hunts it, eventually shoots it and hopefully eats it.

A shooter is ... one who let someone else do all the work and just pulls the trigger on the rifle or release.

I have respect for the hunter.... shooters are a dime a dozen!!!

That deer is a beaut, I will not play can you top this, but I have to say I am rather surprised that she didn't send a pic of a book buck, I mean if that is a book buck I killed an 8 point that would have easily made the books in 74, never got it scored and it burnt up in a house fire, but there you go, I have no proof of the kill so it only counts in my mind.

I will not knock that deer at all, anyone who kills a buck like that if it was fair chase with no guide has every right to be proud. I would still like to see some pics of her book bucks. I really do not understand the reasons for the paranoia. What would be the big deal about posting a pic of yourself with a deer of that calibre? Another thing I do not get is why not show us a pic of the big boys?

And just to be an *******, It doesn't matter what you can identify in that picture.
It is for all a picture and anyone can identify a bear or a mickey mouse or a children's playtoy and the make and model if you were truly hell-bent in doing so. Also, People are going to look at that picture and ONLY look at the deer so when you point out the bear is winnie the poo, People can't see for themselves what kind of bear it is without already knowing. Tax, you know as wll as I, any pic of myself would be sure to invite more than my share of insults. One only has to take a look at Cyrus's response to see that. I figure I compromised. Cyrus, you did exactly as I expected you to. That's about your level. You're right, btw, that's not a B&C'er. (157 7/8 gross...151 1/8th net) but it's the deer that I believe is my biggest accomplisghment, although not my largest, my first nice buck with archery equipment, back in the days when I wasn't such a grouch. I ain't saying a ting on the recent developments in this thread[8D] Well except I agree with Formula 1...right on. It ain't about where it places in any book but where it places in your heart & memory:) All my deer taken have a special meaning, first deer, achery deer, Ml deer, NT, biggest deer, rattled out deer...they may not be trophys but equally rewarding!

I have 4 of my better bucks on the wall. None of them are even close to book, but all are special experiences I will never forget!!!

I'm not insulting your deer. It is in fact a great looking buck. I was laughing at the cloak and dagger stuff. I never asked to see the pics in the first place. If you don't want to show pics of yourself for personal reasons, that's fine. Why not just say so. Why be so secretive?
Please don't assume I would insult a person for physical characteristics. We may have our differences and disagreements but that is crossing a line that I won't get anywhere near. You are way off on that assumption.
My sole issue here was and always has been your negative, know-it-all attitude and that's it. I'm sorry but attitudes like that get me fired up.

I'm all for that. Here's the deal. If you try to be a little more positive. I'll try not to get on your case. Fair enough?

Ok, now for the record, when I see big deer like what's being posted on these boards..sometimes my eyes pop out,,sometimes my jaw hangs open..and all the time I wish it was me that had bagged it. There's nothing I like better than seeing great deer and their equally interesting stories. It's not the deer I have issues with. It's just it seems nowadays that everyone is so quick to proclaim a deer this record, that record..world's biggest 8,,biggest in velvet..biggest 6...biggest 4 pointer...biggest deer taken while eating breakfast..etc etc etc. I mean why can't we all just look at some real nice deer and accept them for what they are...real nice deer. Why do we have to stick a title on them to give them in order to give the hunter's the recognition they deserve. Am I the only one here that thinks there are WR's coming out of the woodwork from everywhere? And I'm out of here. We had about 45 cms of snow 4 days ago, and I'm getting to heck off this Island, and heading to the mainland to scout that ridge top for a few days. Merry Christmas. S

Not enough attention goes to the animal and too much goes to the hunter if you ask me. All he did was shoot the damn thing. It was the deer that grew the rack.

WR, I understand your point about record this, however we are all a product of media. What happens is I receive an email with a pic claiming it to be the next world record or record with velvet. I then think hey the members at hunting. net might like to see this deer and post the info i got...well of course it is not from the source but it is all I have to go on. I use words such as: supposedly, potential, possibly these are disclaimers that this info has not been certified but it may have merit. Not really claiming anything, just at this point this the info I received and just thought I'd share. Then I get jumped and say false, fake, not a record...etc. People who feel they know the story, deer, etc better than I. Does leave a sour taste in my mouth about posting any story or pics I have or receive. Just an example.
