Default Shedman you brought up never seeing yarded deer...

Yarded deer can be huge. South of where we hunt the deer were close to 150 deer in about 80 acres of woods....

Would I be correct in assuming that yarding areas would be perfect for shed hunting? hmmm.....

Shedmanpyro, what town are you moving too. I live in Indiana County, which is about 50 minutes from Pittsburgh. The deer really yard up when we have bad winters. You will be amazed at the amount of deer in the areas around Pittsburgh.

P.S. Only Chuck Adams can sit at home and see deer so get into the woods. =;^)

Yeah, Indiana stands out as one of the better places for big bucks. I hunt around the Jimmy Stewart Airport. It is a tiny little airport about 1/4 mile from my house. There are so many big bucks that stand on the runways at night. Every year I see a big buck in a tiny 2 acre patch of woods right beside the runway.

Fayette is another EXCELLENT place though. There are so many areas around Pittsburgh that have HUGE bucks because the hunting pressure is INCREDIBLY low. These places are archery only. They are amazing areas.

Don't worry about it Shedman, there is a lot of area to hunt in Fayette and Indiana. Any time that you are going hunting in Indiana County, e-mail me, I can give you some good advice as to where to go. I think that you will be pleased with hunting in Pennsylvania. There are a lot of hunters, but when you have around 1.5 million deer running around, it is sure to draw alot of attention.
