Uh-oh. Here we go.

Deer can swim so there for they are not necessarily "fenced" in by the ocean. Although, if killed swimming in the Atlantic, you do not, I repeat, DO NOT, need to soak the meat as long because there is already enough salt on the meat!:D;)

This all makes me laugh. Such a small idea that sparked so much controversy. I have always been a fair chase hunter, but have considered doing a fenced in hunt. The only problem is this, would they actually be able to scored and recorded in the record books? If so, how do I contact one of these "outfitters"? If not, does anyone know who to contact to go on one of these "hunts." I would be curious to see exactly how it all works and if the deer really are that tame and not so easily taken.

Atlas Fencing company could probably refer you to some of them.

NEB, I found a good outfitter in Idaho for Mulies and Elk. Nothing is fenced in but it is private land and many 1,000's of acres. I will try to find the # for ya.

NEB.Buckhunter it would all depend on how the deer where raised and how large the enclosure was, but for someone who has done their own scouting and stand setting in a non-fenced in area successfully, I would imagine that even though you may kill the biggest racked deer you ever killed it would never give you the pride as a hunter that you would have on a lesser antlered buck that you did your own scouting and stand setting in a non-fenced in area. I am sorry, but I know for a fact, I would not have nearly the pride in a buck I killed with a guide or in a fenced in area no matter how big it was. Hey that kill was due to either a guide or someone fencing in an area and raising it for people to kill. The kill was not due to my hunting skills in dealing with a wild deer that was free to go where ever it wanted, was not selectively bred, not feed special food, nor were all of the inferior bucks in the herd thinned out to keep their genes out of the gene pool. Do not get me wrong, if some folks take pride in killing deer that way as long as it is legal go for it.

So what is your preferred method of chicken choking?
Now that's a personal question darn it.

Taz, Hope he comes through it all with out a scratch.

Charlie thanks for the well wishes.

No in regards to choking chickens, you are a true master of chicken choking when you can switch hands and gain a choke![8D]

Thank you for the help. I have always wanted to try an outfitter hunt once to see if it is as great as everyone talks about. I have always hunted either public or private land here in Nebraska, but have never seen the monster buck that everyone talks about. My largest deer ever is a 4x5 whitetail that measures somewhere between 120 and 130...just a guess of course. I have never had it officially scored. I look forward to getting the numebr from you.

Thanks for your help.
