Congratulations on the doe.
but i do have about the second deer you have gotten. Did you say you shot it through the neck with your bow? maybe you stated that wrong, but that seems like a pretty dumb shot.

Idaho... when I think back upon that shot all I can say is that it was a bad shot or else the deer moved. I aimed for the heart.... When I say I hit it in the neck I'm not sure that is the right description. The shot hit about two to three inches in front of the shoulder and about the same height above. The deer didn't even go 20 yards before it fell.
That was my first year of archery. I have put in a lot more practice since then and I feel I am a lot more confident. I passed a lot of shots this year because I felt they were questionable.
I'm sure there are many hunters out there who do not hit the heart or lungs every time. And there are many out there that purposely aim for the neck. If I said I purposely aimed for the neck then I could understand you calling it a dumb shot....

Oh, i understand, it just steems me when people brag about shots that are unethical.

I understand yours was a diff. case.
