I don' t see any reason why not. Get some and pattern it out to 35-40yds. You don' t say what choke you have but wood recomend cylinder or imp. cylinder for shooting forster type slugs (chep kind) a rear sight or scopewould help maybe get you out to 60-75 yds.I wouldn' t trust it any further. You don' t want a constricted choke for slugs.

jerseyhunter is correct in his advice. If that is the only gun you have, go to the range and determine at what distance you can hit a paper plate (6" ) regularly. That should be your maximum effective range.

The first deer I ever killed was with a savage 20 ga full choke without a rifled barrel. The choke should be written on the barrel itself. Although it has plenty of power to get the job done, the accurasy beyond forty or fifty yards becomes eratic without the rifled barrel.

yes it is ok to shoot rifled slugs or buckshot with it as long as you don' t have a x-full choke on it, full will work but not recommended for accuracy, imp. cylinder is your best overall choke for accuracy. good luck and good shooting!
