I was having a conversation with another hunter and the subject of scent killer sprays came up. We both us them but he beleives they are mostly just water and baking soda. I have tried to look up the msds for the brand I currently am using but can't find one. Does anyone know if this is really true? I know cover scents have other things in them, but really just baking soda and water.

I don't know what the ingredients are, I do not use them because so long as you are breathing you are deceminating scent, however there are several products on the market that do kill the smell on things, one of them is called poof and the other is called Zero odor. I use zero odor around the house.

I don't use them. I've done a little testing with Bailey my brindled mix breed who has an incredible nose and she still found the sprayed item easily. My scent control is mostly keeping my hunting gear out of the living portion of the house and when hunting try to use the wind to my advantage.

Deer have better noses than dogs and a dog can find you using that stuff. That stuff is like modern camo, design to catch the hunter and not the game.

i am agreeing with yourpost and others, i can still smell my cloths after spraying so if i can so can the deer. I've been rubbing down with fresh pine needles as i walk to my spot, personnelly i think that helps more.

1 do the same thing with red cedar,have them growing all over,it seems to help
