The first thing a hunter should do is Hunt for good places to hunt using gasoline and boot leather, not a computer.

When it comes to CA you need to decide whether to hunt mulies or blacktails. And then you need to decide if you want to hunt early or late in the year because that dictates where to hunt.

I spent several years in CA in my Navy career and did pretty good on blacktails. Shoot me a PM and I will give you some info but remember it will be nearly 20 years old so things may have changed.

I bet they have after 20 years especially out there in California. I think about all the changes around here even in rural places. One thing for sure the changes probably aren't for the good as far as hunting.

For the OP, what part of California are you in? What kind of animals do you want to hunt? There's a lot more questions that could be asked but that should start the ball rolling.

I gathered this OP was a troll wasting our time, as so many seem to do anymore!

Yup. Another troll. It's like they're coming out of the woodworks. Hmmm...
