Coues' Deer

RE: Coues' Deer
Day4day, my friend and I have bowhunted them the past 5 years...if you want a challenge, bowhunting coues deer will give you one! Have hunted them by spot & stalk and over water holes. We also put in for javilina tags...which when we're drawn really add to the hunt<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>. There is no comparing the difficulty of hunting these desert whitetails to our's in the midwest...
...by the way, welcome to the board!

RE: Coues' Deer
I've been trying on and off again for years to bloody an arrow on one without success. I've been oh sooooo close, but they are tough little buggers. They have a way of moving around you, and seem invisable sometimes. I can hear them kicking a rock here and there, but they like to hang out in the thick stuff a lot and it's almost impossible to move quietly in there.
They're not to hard to glass up, but getting close is a challenge. Much harder than Mule Deer in my experience.
