Here is one I think is in that width range. I killed him early October so he had the summer coat and a double throat patch so I had him done.

It as a tough call because a couple local taxidermist kept offering me more and more money for the cape.

Actually, Jake and Rockport already covered it.

Thanks, he is the 2nd smallest buck on the wall behind my very first deer at 141" but that cape was just about perfect. They all look good mounted IMO. They don't have to be giant to look good.

I didn't get my first deer mounted and regret it. If you have the dollars and a good taxi go for it ! In several years from now your wife if she outlives you will just put them out at the curb anyway so enjoy now lol

That is a beautiful buck. I waited until I figured I had a deer that I would never surpass, but also it was a truly memorable day afield with friends. Money and space has a lot of sway here, just be sure you are using a good /not cheap, taxidermist. It can only be decided by you if you should do a shoulder mount. As a compromise, you could have a nice rack mount done, maybe with a well edited framed photo of you and your buck hanging with it.

To me it would entirely be up to me. It wouldn’t matter what others think. They all are trophies big or small and the way I wish to display can only be answered by me.. So you need to answer that for yourself..

As said, you do what interests you and no one else. If you don't want to spend the money, dig a hole and bury it and dig it up in the spring for your own cheap Euro mount.

Personally I would at least save him in the later way. He means something to you, or you wouldn't even ask this question.
