I looked on the dnr site but couldnt find anything. NO i am not weighing the risk and trying too see if its worth it. I had someone I know get caught and I am just curious too what the punishments are.

If you know someone that got caught he problably wont get what he deserves.

why wont he get what he deserves? Are they not hard on poachers? And whats me knowing him have too do with anything?

It' s hard to think about , but statistics bear it out . Once a poacher , always a poacher . Sad but true .

He should get death by firing squad. He should have to supply the ammo and gun.

In Arkansas they get hung next to the Deer they shot " poached" .

Poachers never get what they deserve and most get away with it for a long time before getting caught, then continue to do it despite the punishment. They ruin it for the real hunters, including you. In short, the puinshment is insufficient. He should never be allowed to hunt (legally) again.

Sometimes it depends on how much poaching that he did and he will lose his hunting rights for a few years and if he also hunts out of state he will not be able to hunt that state that has a agreement with the state of MN. for instance Idaho has this kind of deal w/MN so if he hunts in that state he will not be able to hunt it for the same amount of years. And he will be fined and/or will do some jail time. And he can also lose his bow and rifles.

I know of a guy that got busted for hunting this U.S Army National Guard area. You can hunt this place but you have to sit through a special class since it is the military' s. I also hunt here, very nice place.

He was bowhunting and was being watched the whole time by a MP using a spotting scope. The guy shot the deer and then the MP went to get him, after that the MP called the Game Warden. The only thing the Game Warden did was give him a fine and let him keep the deer! What the heck is this. I always heard they can take all the gear,rifle,bow, your truck whatever you have at the time you where hunting away from you and give you a hefty fine. Oh yeah he did loose rights to hunt that WMA/Army grounds for 2 years along with the fine.
