Glad for the emphasis of gaiters in cold weather. They sure help keep the feet and legs warm. Even without insulated underwear. And with numbers, it makes lesser priced gaiters available for me.
Experimented last winter. Good for a non-hunter too, in cold weather and has only low cut hiking shoes. Not everyone is wearing "hunter insulated boots."
The gaiters will protect the feet. Wore them last winter with low cut hiking shoes and non-insulated boots. Don't have to depend on specialized winter boots, for winter wear.
Found some winter wear, surplus military gaiters, with wool felt protection, that worked great. They were less expensive and worked great with low cut hiking shoes. Even sneakers. I waterproofed the sneaks with silicone spray.
Found the gaiters went good the neck gaiter and the surplus military mittens.
Low cost made it convenient for hunters and my non-hunting winter companion.
Ha, the old Jone-E hand warmer worked good too. A new company is suppose to by making the lighter fluid fueled hand warmer, now. Mine is a little old and still working.
Oh, the new hand warmer is made by Zippo.
