I climbed in my tree stand at just before 6 am and waited for opening morning, as a serious bow hunter I remember when I was dumb enough to think that opening day meant that the deer season just started, ha. Anyway I've sat in my stand too much because it's close to home and I knew the property has nice deer, but at 8:45 I thought a dog was coming up the dry creek bed that I watched but quickly I realized I was blessed with a half dozen hogs coming my way, I couldn't help myself and took the second hog -a nice black female. Have to hunt for horns later, good luck guys

I was fortunate to take a nice buck this morning on our Vermont opening day 10/1/2016. It was literally a 10 minute hunt. Shot was 10 yards and recovery about 150 yards. Quartering away, took liver and one lung.
He dressed 152.5lbs and has a 16.5" inside spread.

I took this 146 5/8" Mule Deer in southern Colorado on 10/24/2016. It was a 100 yard off hand high shoulder shot. He went straight down. Was a very old buck with little teeth left. We think he was 7 or 8 years old.
