You find the deer trails and watch them then when the rut is on check for scrapes and set up off the trail. On a hill top in a food plot there is little place to hide, put a tree stand in the woods along a good trail.

you probably won't see a big mature buck during daylight hours but they will start heading toward the food plot right at dusk if you can figure out where they are bedding you can find a good spot in between and get a chance at a nice buck. also they will hang up on the edges of food plots until almost dark those areas are called staging areas that will also be a good chance at a buck but probably not a monster ? let us know how you do and good luck !
