Velvet is icing on the cake! |
Anyone wanting to hunt velvet bucks should look into a trip to SC, they have probably the earliest season start (Aug 15'ish) in the country. Plenty of time for a trip without missing your own states season. Just a suggestion.

Good buck!
Yeah, that is an early season you have. Our bow season is early this year at Sept 12. Wondering if the bucks will have shed all their velvet by then. |
Possibly NC's season starts on the 13th of Sept and most bucks we see will either be gone or still have tethers left on.
|
Congtrats. Our season opens October 3rd. What kind of temps did you have?
|
Nice buck for a young man. That smile on his face will probably be the best trophy you get this season as well it should be.
|
Lovin the triumphant smile. Good job.

Gotta love that grin! All my kids first deer was the high point of my hunting career by far. Even better than my own first. Just nothing much better that to see your kids successes.
