Where to start?

Default Where to start?

where do i start? i have all my gear. but i have no idea where to start. there are so many options. so many things i could do. what should i start with? what is the first step to hunting deer? its just so overwhelming.

I have a couple places. One in a highly populated town. and 2 in a large town with dense woods. I have heard that in the town, there are a ton of deer. But i never seen any. I don't know if the highly populated area with limited woods is a good idea.

Honestly just go out and hunt! It took me 2 spots before I shot my first deer and then after that I moved spots again because the area was over hunted! You'll never know until you go out and hunt. im assuming you're hunting on the ground?

Do a search. There are TONS of threads just like yours that have been posted on this site. In fact, I think there was a recent one with the exact same title.

yeah im on the ground for now. i want to get a little comfortable with tracking before i get into a tree or an elevated blind.

yes as dumb as it sounds. its easy to sit in a stand/blind. its tough to track them down and take what you want. lol. i am going to get a stand or six soon. but if you cant find the deer. its pointless to have a stand. lol
