I wouldn't trust a high shoulder placement with the BST. Out of a 7-08, there are plenty of bullets that would punch through a high shoulder and still be smiling when they push through the far shoulder, but the BST is not one of them. Hitting even a heart/lung soft tissue vital area placement, the BST's turn the insides of a deer into stew. They're GREAT on deer past 200-250, and have performance at 400-500yrds that mimics a normal PSP at 100yrds, but when they're moving fast, it's like shooting a deer with a lightbulb. Most of my recovered BST "bullets" are just jacket fragments, the separated core, and a jagged banana peeled base under 30% retained. I've used them for a long time, and they put vital shot deer down FAST, but a bone crusher, they are not... :hit:

Well if my rifle does well with the ttsx 150 gr., I'll go the ttsx and I'll be able use them at different shot angles . (and my son's 708)

Like its parent case, the 308, I've yet to see a 7-08 that wasn't a tack driver with just about any decent quality foder you put in it. My son has a Rem 7600 & his buds is a Ruger American. Way back in the early 90s I had a 7-08 in Rem Mdl 7 Mtn Rifle. (STILL kick myself for ever gettin rid of it! :mad: )

I have a older remington model seven youth with 18" barrel and a 700 mountain rifle. I use the plain rem 140 overlooked haven't had a deer go over 50 yards most drop in their tracks shots from 20 yards to around 250 yards. I hits them right in the shoulder and never recovered a bullet. I killed 6 deer with the 7/08 and dad probably killed 10 or so with it. Never a problem the deer that ran 50 yards dad shot behind should at around 250 yards. The blood trail was really impressive, Easy to fallow. My cousin use Hornady 139 sst factory ammo in his 20" barrel model seven and his son killed 5 or 6 deer and a bear with it with no problem.

I was wondering if I should put out a automatic deer feeder this year, I used a gravity feeder that I made, it was a hit, but the coons kept digging the corn out.

In MS. it has to be 100 yards and out of sight from the blind.
How long would it take for them to get use to the noise? They like that apple corn !

I could put it in a location that's hidden from the fields (food plots) ! That way they could smell it and look for it out of curiosity, if it's a problem.

Know people that have feeds out year round. Only coons got your gravity feeders. Had some home made gravity feeds out of pvc pipe and a bear bite through it and destroyed them.
