Do a Google search. There's plenty on the net for things like you're asking. When the rut is ongoing, you'll want to be out all day every day from the first ray of light until legal quitting time.

What phase of the rut. Typically the 1st week in November is a good opportunity.

It varies. Usually as stated, the 1st of November is a good milestone but best bet is to go around then and make your judgement. If you see alot of does alone and no chasing, chances are the rut hasnt hit yet. If the rut is in, you should know it. Last year I didnt have any rutting activity in central Ohio until the second week of November clear up to firearms season.

You could write 50 pages on just this topic and still not cover it all! I'd sit on your computer for a few hours and just do a ton of google searches. Good luck and welcome to the addiction!

Last week of October, first 2 weeks in November is prime time. But no guarantee you'll see big bucks (or any bucks) at any time during the rut, that's just hunting. How to hunt? Spend as much time in the stand as you can, and keep the wind in your face.

I've hunted in the rut and seen no bucks. If you're seeing small bucks, that's a pretty good day for most people.
