The 30 06 will do all that you need, and more. If you are recoil sensitive, the 25 06 is a viable option as well. It will flatten any deer bear or boar that ever walks. Recoil is negligible and it shoots extremely flat. Nothing wrong with your selections, just saying. The 270 Winchester is another option for you as well.

Killed many deer with a 30/06 hunting the Panhandle...my preference is a .270 though as well...either does the job just fine.
