As I get older, I am seeing too many buddies crossing over. Bill H. slipped away Thursday after a 5 year fight with Parkinson's. He and I go back to our 1960's college football days. He was an avid hunter and good friend. We had great trips hunting to south Texas and eastern
Montana. And wore out the Specks at Chandelier Is. way back when. Dang I'll miss him a bunch.

Another reminder that we all need to seriously consider the afterlife.Lost a friend of 39 years-hunted together for 33 of those years-about 3 years ago.Totally unexpected.Sometimes that's how it happens.

Lost my last hunting partner in 2005. We started out hunting ducks in a river flooding in 1969. We didn't go to deer camp in 2004 due to my wife being very sick and I was really worried about her. I took a couple of different guys from the club with me in 2006. Slugs had to be told to do every thing like pumping water, putting wood in the wood burner and such all my there partners knew to do automatically. These days I go alone and remember the old days.

you have to remember people who passed. For me it's been going on since the sixties.
It's those MD's who pass on, who you never knew because they followed you in high school by more than five years, that gets to me.
A price of getting old.
