I always have a little chuckle when I slip up and get busted.

when I was 20 I knew it all, when I was 30 I knew half of it, when I was 40 was really slippin,
today I've accepted I know just less than nothing, have more fun, and still get lucky pretty regular

Whole lotta truth in that statement and it pretty much applies to a lot of things in life for just about all of us.

I'm often amazed at how obvious some things are once you learn them after 20 years.

Yeah, getting busted is part of it all. Otherwise it wouldn't be much of a sport.

It helps to take some notes and refer to them the next season.

From what I've heard anybody who can live in IL and not get shot at has to have some sharp situational awareness...... be they deer or human.

Ive never hunted anywhere else but just from reading and discussing deer hunting with people around the country I get that impression.

I know a lot of the tactics I read wouldn't work where I hunt.
