Not which way the scrapes are facing, it' s which way the rubs are facing if there are any around. When a buck rubs, he usually is traveling the opposite way from the direction the rub is facing (hope that makes sense). If there are scrapes around, there will most likely be some rubs in the area too. Finding them can give you some extra clues about the deer movement (bucks in particular).

If it is a lone scrape, I would not get too excited. It is huntable as others have said but, when you find a good scrape line, or an area with multiple scrapes you will know you' ve found his core area! good luck!
