Where is the best location for a feeder? Tall grass or bare ground?

Thanks in advance.

I put mine in tall grass. But, after a couple months the deer have turned it into bare ground. So, maybe it doesn't matter.

I alway's put mine on bare ground in secluded areas, I also get rock salt and sprinkle around when I fill it. After 2-3 years I have a pond to fish out of.

Doesnt matter where. The deer will destroy the ground around it and it will be bare in 2 weeks considering their food supply will be getting much smaller now that true winter is here.

However, I do try to put it near a natural path so that they find it quickly.
