How does that work when you get one buck tag a year?

Here's a pic of the best 6pt I've ever seen in my woods. It's funny too, because I took that week off to hunt and was at a different stand site that day! I don't usually kill 6 pointers, but I would have taken this guy. How about the time!

Biggest 6 point that I have personally ever killed. Shot him at about 15 yards with my bow.

That would be rough. Luckily we get 2 buck tags a year here. Also with 3 of us hunting that's 6 bucks we can take.

This is one of those grey areas where you wish landowners could have more leniency to improve the deer herd, but at the same time, more tags would probably mean just more deer killed in general without regard for management etc...

I'd still rather take a management buck vs. a 2.5yo 10pt etc... of course I'd rather take a monster buck, but I'm really starting to think there's something to helping encourage your big bucks breed vs inferior bucks.

We have some similar 6 points on our place. I've slowly tried to take them out of gene pool if possible. We had one over 20" wide killed several years back that was a big old deer.

I saw this guy get hit by a car. Nobody wanted him so I took him. I do love a big 6 pt. I wish I would have shot him though.
